Goodbye 2008 and welcome 2009
Though the economy doesn't look bright
We know that we won't have to die
As God will see us through 2009
Just as in 2008, though with a sigh
When we trust Him as our Guide
- B. Teo

The above thoughts cross my mind, as today is the last day of 2008. It's time I make a new resolution for 2009.
Many people talked about the effect of the bad economy this year, but somehow, I didn't feel much of it. I remember the story in the Bible about how God told Joseph to save during his 7 years of harvest to prepare him and the people with him for the following 7 years of famine.
The same principle applies today, be it in our work or personal life. We should not take good times for granted so that when bad times come we will still have enough to weather them through.
I have been in the education and the non-profit industry for the last 13 years and have learnt to predict the 'season of the tide' in these industries.
Perhaps, I shall write more about what I hope to do for 2009 tomorrow. Stay tuned!
